NOTE: Course change is being discussed for 2017 that would eliminate the carry and instead spend 4 miles or so out in the sometimes formidable Seneca Lake. Check back for details.

Location: Seneca Lake State Park

Location details: Geneva, New York, just off 5&20

Classes: Most standard NYMCRA classes . This is also a NYMCRA kayak points race.

Distance: 13 miles (no carry)

Course:   (map)
This is a loop that begins on Seneca Lake, enters the Seneca-Cayuga canal, and ends at the starting point.
Seneca Lake can be rough, so prepare appropriately. The first 4 miles are across the north end of Seneca Lake and then into the mouth of the Seneca-Cayuga canal.
The majority of the course is on the Seneca-Cayuga canal, about 30-50 yards wide, with very little current. Paddlers will turn around before the first lock and dam and return to Seneca Lake, finishing at the starting point.
